need tips to make boat more stable

I'm a newb to RC boats. I got a SV27, but haven't had much success with it because of crappy batteries (Venom 4200mAh). I just got a pair of duratrax 4200mAh batteries and the boat runs much better. Now that I can get it to go fast, it's very unstable when it starts to go fast. It looks like the boat is riding almost totally out of the water, the hull is barely touching. Then it starts to bound around out of control. Any tune-up tips someone can give me so it more stable?

There are several pages with tons of tips. But from what you are saying it sounds like your batteries need to move forward in the boat!. I have mine about 2 inches past the motor, and it works great!

Make sure the strut and and trim tabs are neutral. Swing the rudder forward a few degrees and round the front of the rudder. Also remove the battery trays and move your batteries more forward than stock position.

Thanks, that helps. What's the white stuff under the batteries?

Velcro, it's used to hold the batteries in place. One part goes on the boat and the other part on the battery.

              The white color fooled me.
