The fast time may have been recorded during your flip or other time in the air...I've had some crazy readings caused by the boat catching big air or flipping wildly.
If the boat is travelling through the air at 47, but the GPS/boat is doing a forward 360 whilst doing 47, then the GPS is going faster than 47 at some point.

Most if not all small handheld GPS units use positions in its speed calculations. Based upon a series of trackpoints. Each trackpoint is basicly a recorded longitude and latitude. That gives location and then depending on each successive measurement (as long as the GPS stays glued to the particular satelites) you get speed based on travel time from one location to the next.

Each trackpoint has some error in the calculation and its a variable amount between each trackpoint. I.E. its not linear. That means the errors are cumulative. Thats why trackpoint GPS is not accurate. Never will be. GPS units using doppler shift have greater accuracy in determining speed.

          Hey Brushless 55:
Where do you mount that Garmin GPS in your hull?
I have the same wrist mounted running gps & have tried mounting inside the hull @ the stern port side. But after a run, I get these super slow #'s like 5.6mph. I think the GPS is unable to "see" the satellites because it is covered by the hatch. Do you have any thoughts?

if you look at the first picture, you will see where it sits..
I cut a pool noodle in half to keep the batteries forward, that gave me a perfect spot to put my gps

That was my first thought, but it was going much faster than the second run before it launched..
and it sounded like a ticked off SV

being this motor has possibly more power, could it be even with the same KV this could be a faster motor?

I know it would probably turn a bigger prop easier than the stock motor, with less heat.

I'm waiting on some 4s packs to be back in stock, and I think I will try one of those motors with the order..
I did find an extra SV motor and put that in last night!
and the stock one was slightly demaged..
