Just worried I could be too heavy. Maybe a different prop better for low end, I am not real worried about top speed as much as I am handling and longevity.
Thats a lot of battery weight. 7 cells are pretty heavy, switch to lipos too lighten up and you also won't need that receiver pack. If you don't want to make the lipo jump and wanna run 7 cell, drop the receiver pack and add a cc bec for $20. Saves weight and don't need to worry about your receiver pack dying on you.

I have read that running with 14 cells you can have issues with receiver, some are advising to remove the bec and run separate receiver pack to eliminate the issue. Not sure if it is true because I haven't tried it out yet, just didn't want my first run to result in a runaway boat. Lipos are definitely in the future, sadly I had just bought two matching 3 cells for my traxxas truck. Wish I could use them in the boat.

I ran 14 cell without an issue a few times then I bought that CC BEC i mentioned in a previous post and disconnected the bec from the esc and it ran perfect. That bec is way better than a receiver pack imo. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...tle-bec&cat=75

*With lipos of course you will need a lipo shield for your stock esc.

could be more than just battery placement..
if the strut and tabs are not set correct, one could have a bouncy SV

Alright, I finally got the boat in the water. Other than the cavatating prop it ran well. I think the 14 Nimh cells are a bit much in the weight category. Definitely going to get some 2 cell lipos. I shot a video which is kinda crappy, but I am having trouble with viewing it. Anyone know anything about .mov documents. I tried viewing it in Quicktime and Windows media player. Quicktime just shows a pink and gray fuzzy screen WMP can't open it at all. Sucks. I have tried wathcing some other videos posted on this site and got the pink fuzzy screen as well. anyone know a program that can open these files correctly??

What OS are you running, Vista?

              What prop are you using?

Running windows xp, and i downloaded the most recent quicktime version thinking that would fix the problem but it didn't. The sound comes through fine but no picture.

Using the stock prop, I have a 2 blade CF 45 prop, need to try it i guess though i'm not sure if it will help and I think it is going to run a bit hotter.

what a difference a prop makes. Changed to the CF 45 and it was a totally different boat. I also moved the batteries back a bit to put the COG back to 8 in previously was at 8 3/4 in. Wish I had a video of that run. changed a few settings and i'm now able to see my video, tried to post it but having trouble.

I am in the middle of trying to reinforce my hull, and was thinking of a way to replace my soft water logged motor rails. I kind a like the lexan idea, How do you fasten it to the hull? I am very new to this sport, and I am loving it.

                                Thanks
