Question on flex shaft tube

Is it ususl for the flex shaft tube to continue through the transom to the end of the strut? To use the ose strut bushing I will have to cut the tube at the transom.

Also Does the replacement bushing stick out the back of the strut at the bevel. looks like about 3-4mm? This may mean the the fexashaft is too short even with the upgraded collect..

One more question, Running and 8xl with 2 *11.1v 5000mah 30-40c lipos which would be the better the better esc, a 150Etti or seaking 120 or 180?

Sorry Guys, just worked it out. interesting though that there was only two little pieces of teflon tube and the strut bushing. I dont see how there could be any adjustment of the strut the way this has been set up. Not that it needs it. Also noticed a horizontal crack at the back near the rudder fitting and the hull extending rightward toward the turn finn attachment.

That's funny you say that about the two little pieces of teflon. I had the same thing with mine when i upgraded the flex cable and liner, I also found only two little pieces!! Crazy!!

Sorry to hear about the crack, i'm sure there is a thread on how to fix it!! I am new to all this stuff and this site has saved me a lot of trouble!!

Thats one good reason to make this decent RTR hull into something much better. Removing any brass tubing sticking out of the transom is one of my recommended improvements. There is a slight gap but that can be filled with a longer liner. And make it a one piece. You need some minor adjustability in the stinger however once set and you are happy with motor/speedo/batts/prop combo I dont think you will want to experiment any more unless that how you get your kicks. I run a 1512 in one of mine and its just not able to remain stable on the water after a certain point. Even the stock motor is almost overpowers the size and design. But it is such a fun to run its one of my favorites and I have much faster hulls.

What about the Esc, ie Etti 150 or seaking 120 or 180

I ran the 180 for a few runs until the shrinkwrap shrunk and allowed the motor contacts to touch, blew the caps. Just wondering if the Etti 150 is a better way to go?

I dont own an ETTI but you hear nothing but good things about them. Thats a plus for us boat buys.
