    Aquacraft SV 27 anodized hardware

I have a white SV hull and am thinking of removing the blue anodized finish on all the transome hardware: rudder, rudder bracket, rudder control arm, mono strut assembly and the port and starbord side turn fins and brackets. I have the OSE adjustable trim tabs and they are a natural finish.

Anyone tried removing the finish? If so, what did you do to achieve it?

My guess is to get some 400 wet/dry paper anf sand it off. And then get a metal polish to finish it off. Is it worth the work guys?

I think the hardware would look sharp in a natural finish on a white hull

Doby, thanks for the reply. There seems to be more than one way to skin a cat. I knew I read about this subject some where here, but could not remember where I read it.

If you remove the anodizing just remember that it will be bare metal and absorb stains and will discolor over time. Not a big deal but you may need to clean it after awhile.

If you take a little more time with it after the oven cleaner and polish the hardware to a shine it lasts quiet a while
