    leak through drive shaft tube

i lost my stock driveshaft and replaced it with an upgrade. now it leaks slowly, and i'm pretty sure it is from the shaft tube, coming out at the collet end, because the boat is otherwise water tight. i think i did something wrong installing it, at first i had trouble making the shaft to all the way into the collet. any thoughts>

I had a similar incident recently when I upgraded a flex shaft to a wire drive. So much water came in that I fried a brand new Etti 150. then I remembered what I did once. Where the drive comes out of the stuffing tube, slide heat shrink over it, then when you are all hooked up, put a little grease at shaft/tube exit, slide heat shrink over, and shrink it up. Makes a tighter seal and dosen't affect any drag.

I have been know to use double layerd Heat shrink and CA to the stuffing tube then install drive and shring it down.

Silicone tubing still works well but just make sure it is not around the cable to much.

I had a one that pushed water in the nose and stuffing tube and now I shrink that area too...or just some sealer.
