    cheap lipos

Well I almost torched my boat today. Yeah I bought some cheap lipos an Ebay and now i know way they where so cheap. they where supposed to be 20c but I guess they won't and one pack caught:cursing on fire luckily all that happened was it fried the Velcro strip and singed some wires but the smell is so bad, won't do that again. PLEASE DON'T US CHEAP LIPOS IN YOUR BOAT. I learned my lesson well.

I hear a lot of racers and rec boaters getting their batteries from hobbycity.com. You can get a 2s 20c-30c 5000mah zippy pack for $19.99 and with everything I've read they seem really reliable. That's where and what I have on order.

eBay lipos = bad juju. If you are going to cheap out, go with Turnigy or Rhino lipos. They perform up to their ratings (and often times a little better) and won't break the bank.

EDIT: Zippy lipos work, too. HobbyCity is the place to go for cheap lipos, anywhere else you'll probably get burned.

I have heard of a few people having trouble with the turnigys and have had trouble myself with a 3s pack one of the cell went out on its first run .This seems to be the common problem with these batteries but I have since gotten a set of zippys from hobby king with no problems
