    Dang Turtles!!!!!!

I had been out of commission for one reason or the other for the last couple of weeks. Finally got a chance to go to the pond and I swear the turtles must have multiplied 3 fold!! I counted about 14 in what I could see.
Anyway running wide open for a couple of laps with my new motor probably somewhere between 40 and 45 then WAP The boat jumped about 3 or 4 feet in the air, did a nose dive and completely disappeared then popped back up.

I eased it back over to me and the damage was a lot lighter than the sound it made. Caught the very edge of the prop, but I can fix that in about 30 min or so. Put a flat spot on the very bottom leading edge of the rudder.....I already have the file out.. It also flipped the left fin up on the mount. Thank goodness I don't tighten those things down a lot.

I guess all of that extra glasscloth and epoxy in the transom paid off today. I thought sure that it would have ripped the back off.

Now......to find a pond without turtles......

Well don't have to worry about the turtles at that pond any longer. The pond owner (older lady) has a daughter, that I was warned about early on....that decided I was having too much fun at their pond.
She gave me a bunch of BS excuses.....which honestly didn't make any sense....but basically boils down to not wanting anyone else using the pond.......especially if they didn't live in their neighborhood. The neighborhood has the reputation of being very "snooty" for lack of a cleaner term.

So now.......I have a boat with no where to run it

It's amazing how some folks are just miserable and can't stand for anyone to enjoy themselves. In the 2 or 3 months that I had been going out to the pond there had never been anyone on or around the pond except for me......go figure.

Man that stinks ...this is why i take a slow lap or two first so if there is anything in the water they move away from where i ride the boat .

Screw that...throw a few sticks of dynamite in there and watch them come to the surface :)

That ought to wake the old hag up!

That or give her some pie and cookies and crap like they do us! That will fix her....don't forget the ex-lax in the brownies!

Money wouldn't change it. It's one of those situations where the older "actual" owner is the mom and said it's ok......then the daughter who lives on the other side of the pond is a known b***ch. I'm not getting in the middle of a "family" issue. I'll find another place...it's just won't be as close to the house.

Yep. I can understand that. But you could always get written permission from the owner. That would shut the daughter up nicely.
