I had been out of commission for one reason or the other for the last couple of weeks. Finally got a chance to go to the pond and I swear the turtles must have multiplied 3 fold!! I counted about 14 in what I could see.
Anyway running wide open for a couple of laps with my new motor probably somewhere between 40 and 45 then WAP
The boat jumped about 3 or 4 feet in the air, did a nose dive and completely disappeared then popped back up.
I eased it back over to me and the damage was a lot lighter than the sound it made. Caught the very edge of the prop, but I can fix that in about 30 min or so. Put a flat spot on the very bottom leading edge of the rudder.....I already have the file out..
It also flipped the left fin up on the mount. Thank goodness I don't tighten those things down a lot.
I guess all of that extra glasscloth and epoxy in the transom paid off today. I thought sure that it would have ripped the back off.
Now......to find a pond without turtles......
