Ok ill see if that makes a chance, if not i will have to order some new lipos and see if that makes a difference as i have been using these ones almost a year and they have got slightly wet in the past so may be past there peak. Thank you for your help and i will let you know if i get anywhere with the set up. Thanks again.Comment

I know on the majority of Supervees i have seen the stinger, the best results with the stinger have been straight out with no angle on it. I would try adjusting the stinger and maybe recharging and balancing your lipos before i did something as drastic as investing in some new batteries., maybe you can post a picture of your stinger.
Do you have a gap between your drive dog and the end of your stinger? there should be about a 4mm gap between the drive dog and stingerComment

I will take some photos as soon as possible, i wouldnt say there is as much as a 4mm gap between the two thought. If i open that gap up a bit, recharge and balance my lipos and maybe give my props a going over then try again. Do you know what speed i should be getting out of this set up and ill put the gps in it to see if im anywhere near what i should be.Comment

Where have you got everything in your boat ?
Is the motor in the stock motor mount ?
Esc near the back or front ?
Lipos where ?
It might just be where you have the weight and the balance of the boat
Have you tried just moving the lipos forward or back and see if it makes a differanceComment

The motor is in the stock mount, i have taken out the plastic box a replaced it with the Kintec servo mount. I have mounted the Etti where the standard speed controller would have been mounted if it was still there. I run my lipos so they sit up against the bolts for the motor mount. I will try and bring them back slightly.Comment

Very nice Jack.
But there is one thing that you might want to look at.
There should be about a 4mm gap between the drive dog & the strut to allow for the flex cable wind up under load. In the photo it looks very tight.
Just back off the prop nut & move the prop & dog back & then nip up the prop nut again. This will take a bit of load off your drive system & possibly save you from breaking the flex shaft.
I would also put a locknut on the shaft so that you don't loose the prop.
All the best.
Paul.See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Cheers Paul,
I will open up the gap between the dog drive and the strut. Thanks for the tips. I dont know why i am trying to make it faster then it was to be honest, i live in Guernsey in the Channel Islands and we only have one pond we are allowed to use our boats in and its on about 200 meters long. Im off to Perth at the end of the month for 4 months and id love to take the SV with me, just charging the lipos would be a issue.
Thanks again Paul, Ill let you know if i have an increase in speed.

Just to help you out, you can pick up a cheap charger on ebay, it will charge a balance.
I have one of these chargers and it works fine. Iv'e never had a problem with it and it always balances my cells perfect. Make sure you have it in a place where a little air can pass through it too keep it cool though, it does not have any internal fans.
Cheers, hope openeing up the gap between your drive dog and stinger works out for you.Comment

Hi people,
Thanks for the info on the charger Chris, I will definately look into it.
I recharged and balanced my old lipos and still didnt have a great increase in speed, my new lipos arrived today TrackPower Dark Series 5000 40c, the boat is now insane, there was a slight chop on the pond but i barely used more than half throttle. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and i will try and get a GPS reading on it. The boat leaps out the water on take off. Very Happy.Comment
