Etti 150 With Feigao 540

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has run a Etti 150 Navy with a Feigao 540 12L? Im not sure what KV i have to have it set for, for the motor, 8, 12 or 16. Does anyone know?

We need more info to help fully. What size boat, what style of boat? What is your speed needs? What cells and voltage are you planing on using?

I have put it in a Supervee27, im running a Octura 422x and i also trieda Prather 220 but have not had much change in speed. The batteries are TrackPower Lipo they are 7.4 volts and 2cell each and im running two so 4cell and 14.8 volts over all.

The KV rating on a Feigao 12l is 2159kv.
The etti should work well with the feigao, my Feigao/Etti setup works great.
Not sure what you mean with setting the KV?
Your KV rating is the rpms of your motor under 1 volt.

I'm sorry, I thought you were asking about different winds. There is a big pitch difference between a x442 and a s220. Do you have anything in the middle to try?

In the set up of the Etti Speed controller it says to set what KV the motor is and it gives you the choice of 8,12 or 16 it is set on defalt which is 8. Thats whats confusing me. I have also tried the standard prop which i have in metal, I also tried the Octura 642 which was probably the best but still not great. I have a three bladed prop but not sure what it is, i didnt try it as i have always had better results with 2 bladed. Chris, what setting did you change on your Etti from factory settings, if any?

I'm running a Feigao 540 8xl on a 4s setup.
I set my Battery type setting to 4s lipo
set my poles to 2 poles.
Pwm option set to 8K.
Thats pretty much the only options i messed with. I set the other option back to default.

If you are talking about PWM option i would set it to 8k as this is for lower KV in-runner brushless motors. Like your case is the Feigao 12l which is 2159kv.

EDIT: May be a stupid question, but are your props sharpened and balanced? The X642 Octura would be a prop in the middle of the Prather 220 and the X442

My props are sharpened and balanced, i have my speed controller settings exactly how you have said to have them. Im really confused i thought there would have been a huge difference in power, it just doesnt sound like its screaming which is what i would have expected. Do you think it could be my lipos? do i need more powerful batteries? The boat is stiiting well in the water, the shaft and tabs are neutral but i have a 8-10 foot roost, would you say that is normal?

Its a standard radio, are you on about the throttle trim? Sorry i dont understand what you mean by reserved?

That helps, seems like you have the right batteries for the application. For most boating applications you want a battery with a 25c constant rating. Your batteries are 25c constant 50c burst which is perfect.
Maybe your batteries are bad, im not sure why your setup isnt fast.
You can try moving your strut up and down in small increments. You may see increased speeds.

Maybe someone else can chime in and give opinions.
