What speed should i be getting?

Hi Guys, I am running trackpower gold lipos, Feigao 12L with standard esc. I have a 2 bladed prop but not sure what it is. Iv only recently put the Feigao in the boat but i have not noticed much, if any change in speed compared to the standard motor. Not sure whats going wrong? Id be greatful for any help as i am far from a pro. Cheers.

How are we supposed to answer your speed question without having the slightest clue of what size prop you are running?

The motor is a 540 12L, its a standard speed controller, the batteries are c3. I got an idea that the prop is a x442. Im running 2 water pick ups, Carbon turn fins, OSE trim tabs. Anything else you need to know, let me know. Cheers

If the batteries only have a discharge rate of 3 amps (C3), then you will get very little in performance out of the rig and batteries will heat up quickly. You need to run 20c batteries minimum

Thanks for your help, I have ordered a new x442 prop just so i know for definate whay im running. Iv also oredered a Etti 150 speed controller. What batterys would you recommend, I cant seem to find more powerful trackpower gold lipos than the ones i have, iv heard that they are bringing out some C4 out but when i dont know.

Also I am having trouble keeping the inside free from water, i did the tup test and i have no water coming in at all, I have checked all the cooling lines under preasure and there are no leaks so i m guessing that the only place it can be coming from is the shaft, iv regreased it but still no joy. any ideas?

the track powers are 20 or 25c guys, you will not notice a difference with the new esc. it is probably your strut setting. need it nuetral. i run the exact same setup on one of my sv's. it does a gps verified 51.9 mph on 5s lipo. not gonna be much faster than stock on 4s but a little. the stock motor has way more torque. ohh and i run with the 40-52/3 blade metal prop. same as stock except copper.

No one has asked this yet.,.....

You asked "what speeds should I be getting?".....how about answering this,,,what speeds are you currently getting?? How much faster do you really want to go? The SV is a great boat but has its limitations.

I'm sure 6S's 51 mph is on glass smooth water,,, as even in the mid 30's it can become unstable in even the slightest of chop.

How fast do you want to go vs how many times do you want to flip and retrieve your boat....thats the real question.

I've had mine up to 41 with the stock motor and esc and 42x55 grim prop. I have to say that in moderately choppy water with the batteries moved up I was really amazed at how stable the boat was. I can do consistant 37, 38 mph with rough water. I also have 5oz of weight just in front of the motor.
