I got to run my super vee for one run today when parts started breaking I have a feigao 6xl seaking 180 esc and 2s 30c 5000 mah batteries after the first run the shaft on the motor bent my motor mounts broke and my flex shaft snaped. The coped tubing got tore up. Just wondering how to beef up the motor mounts and everything else to stop it from happening. My esc was still cool not even warm. Any help would be appreciated will post pics of damage tommorow thanks
What happens when you go fast with a super vee

Looks to me like flex shaft failed first which put the coupler out of balance, made the motor start vibrating real bad which broke your motor mount loose.
Your lucky that motor didnt go through the bottom of that hull.Z

I would think the front bearing went first and then all hell broke lose!
6XL on 2S or in series making it 4S! If it was 4S then you are a wild man!Comment

It was on 4s but we figured it out it was only 41000 rpm motor says it's good for 50000. Shaft wasn't bent think the torque broke it I'm going to fiber glass the motor mounts and try a bigger outdrive with bigger cable I'm probally going with a neu motor 1527 try to make it fly the lipos I run are 30c 50c burst but I haven't seen a motor do what mine did. Hey nick did you get your parts? Not trying to set a record just go fast . It was fun the few runs it lasted. Going to reinforce everything and try it againComment

Motor was new straight out the box first test run first try wasn't fast adjusted the strut a little put brand new batteries. It was the first time with new stuff in it had just finished putting it together the day beforeComment

what is missing from the math is the prop diameter. you should definitely be running props smaller than 40mm.
Was your prop balanced? @ 40,000 rpm and bouncing over the water, if the prop is unbalanced the vibrations will indeed shake your boat apart. I think z400 and Mr. Wohlt are on the right track and that the driveline was vibrating bigtime, then something came loose or free...motor screw, motor mount screw, collet...stuffing tube?
To beef it up, reglass all seams and strap everything down with fiberglass tape. Make sure the stuffing tube is aligned and secure and that the bend is natural. Make sure the rest of the driveline is well-balanced, especially the prop. Check that there is teflon the entire length of the stuff tube.
I've been racing hard with the same SV for 2 1/2 years now...still a winner, same stock parts that came with it, including the shaft, motor, etc.Comment
