    Fried ESC?

I picked up a new RIO EP for my son on Friday. Dropped in a 3300 NiMH 6 cell pack in there on Saturday - ran it in the local pond. About 10 minutes into it, it's dead in the water in the middle of the pond. The rudders are still operating, but there's no juice getting to the motor. I tested the motor - it works just fine. I thought maybe there's some loose wiring - but heck, there isnt that much wiring.

    Is the ESC fried already?!

Sounds like it. Give AquaCraft a call. You can probably send back just the esc.

I emailed them this morning - they're mailing me a new ESC. After reading up on the stock ESC this weekend, I'm tempted to buy a different one and install that instead. Or, I'll just try the replacement stock ESC and use it as long as it works - then if it fails again, just buy a better one and be done with it.
