    Drive shaft setup

Well it's me again... lol I did not have the drive strut, flex shaft, or the bushing included with the boat. How does it go together? Does the Bushing go inside the strut first? Does the stuffing tube need to be glued to the tube as it it able to slide out right now....my first flex

    Thanks.

Bushing go's in the strut at the drive dog side,
And the tube go's in the bullet shaped side.
You can put a piece of shrink wrap on the strut to tube for water tightness and some support.

        Yes,
But what did you do about the other end where the stuffing tube go's in the strut ?
Did put any shrink wrap on it ?

          Th bullet nut is pretty,
But you may loos it and your prop.
Most do not use them because of that reason.

Should the teflon stick out the back? I just put the metal shaft tube in the strut.

BTW should the bushing rotate on the shaft or rotate with the shaft mines pretty tight on the shaft.

Thanks for the heads up on the bullet nut. That's my show nut now lol. Ive got the stock one still Ill use in the water. This is my first 20$ prop and I'm not going to chance it.

In this picture is the flex all the way in the coupler and mounted to the motor at that time of the picture ?

BTW if you leave some room on the flex shaft from the prop dog to the strut doesn't that mean that most of the thrust created by the prop is transfered to the motor bearings? Would think that the bushing should do most of the work?

WTf is going on here?! I'm lost. Motor bearing can take the thrust btw

Where did you buy the prop and is it sharped & balanced and what size is it ?
If so, Who did the S&B to it ?
Ok that good on the picture info.
And yes, Leave a 3/16" gap.
The strut just hold flex shaft, And the flex shaft should flex from the torque to help the motor bearings.
The bushing should fit tight in the strut and the shaft should spin freely in the bushing.

Its the Grimm 40x57 bare prop. I need to get it S+B I have a friend that will do it but lives an hour away so it will be a week or two when I get time.

My bushing is loose in the strut. I guess Ill pull the stuffing tube out and replace it with the new one.

Ill get another pic of the strut. Give me a sec....

......sorry for leaving you out dana

                              Ok,
Is their a slot in the flex shaft for the prop dog ?
If so move it back to the end to give more gap at the strut and dog.
Oh, Do not run the boat till the prop S & B or you may smoke something.
On the Cg I am not sure, On your hull,
My Hydro like the cell at end of sponsones.
But hear is some very good info on your boat,
Do what they say and you should be good.http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...get-on-a-plane!!!
