    Too long of shaft?

Well I got my Leopard in my UL1 and the Octura flex coupler. But the motor cant sit on the mount without pushing the shaft out this far. Should I get another coupler, a spacer, or just grind off some of the motor shaft? This is how bad it is....

...seriously the next day after I put my order in I get an email telling me the short coupler was back in stock

First of all you want a gap there. Second, just take a little off the flex cable at the end that goes into the collet. Real simple

The coupler has nothing to do with it. The leopard motor shafts are longer than the stock ul1 motor has. The flex cable goes thru until it hits the motor shaft if you didn't know already

How much of a gap? I would think all the bushing needs to be in the strut and the prop collet needs to be 1-2mm from touching the strut. I am scared to grind on the flex shaft thinking it will fray.

BTW I just bought a used UL-1 bare hull so I'm starting from scratch.

3mm gap is good. Cut flex with Dremel. Tin end with solder to keep from fraying

Actually grinding it worked very well problem solved. Now to find some ss motor mount screws.
