    What kind of paint will stick to cowl & Fins?

        Doubt they are aluminum but I used to work on and build sailboat masts of aluminum. There is an acid etch and then a alodine solution that seals the aluminum (stops it from oxidizing) then you can prime

          The "fins" the original post refered to are the Vertical Fins ( stabilizers on the hull) I think it was unclear to the readers so it could be undersood as turn fins, it is interesting how much info canbe covered in two or three posts, love this forum!
          BTW, Brushless55 , that paint is gorgeous!

                I did clear over the top
                made the paint come alive and smooth out the details

                  Bruce, I always liked how you painted your motor mount, it looks great! I wish my conversion was as neat and professional as yours, I simply pushed the BL in the stock mount, that is because I ordered the same mount after reading your original thread, but the mount is too wide for my purpose. Anyway, keep us posted, I know this is not the place to talk about Rio BL conversion.
