Lost strut, prop and flex shaft :(

AS the title says, I was running the ul-1 and everything was going good till the boat stoped, I could hear the motor run but when I retrived the boat I saw that the strut, prop and flex were gone.
I did,ent think I hit anything but I guess I did, All that was left was the rudder and two holes where the strut was mounted to, now I need to buy a new strut, but how do you remount it to the transom?
No damage to the transom except a small section just right of where the strut was and it in not broken thru the hull so alittle epoxy can fix that.

There are two screws that hold onto the strut mounts which hold the strut in place. Put both mounts on first with the screws snug. Position the strut in between the mounts and tighten the struts to the mount and then tighten the mounts to the transom. Also a good idea while you have that out to make sure that the inner diameter of the bushing has clearance with the prop shaft. I had to drill mine out about 8 thousanths and i then loctited it to the main brass prop tube to make sure that it stays in and does not get stuck and spin on the prop shaft. I just got a UL-1 recently and there are a lot of different things I did to mine to make it way better than it comes stock out of the box. I.e. Upgrading to an OSE Flex shaft, modifying the motor mount so that it is properly aligned with the prop shaft to eliminate binding between the motor and the prop shaft, loctited the bushing to the brass prop shaft tube, and changed the way the rudder rod mounted to the servo so that it has more steering throw. When i got mine out of the box it had a worse turning radius than a semi. I also had to go swimming for my boat the first time out as the original prop shaft broke and its a pos. Got the OSE prop shaft and have not had any issues with it. Just make sure you grease it after every run. I just got this boat, but i know a lot about it and if you have any other questions about it feel free to send me a pm or if you want any pics on how i did the changes i did to my boat. Btw what color dod you get I have the orange and it looks awesome. Also be pacient with this boat as it takes some hang time with it to get it to run just right. Hope this helps and happy boating.

Thanks I understand all that as I have had this boat over a year now and even had it up to 63.3 mph but now I went back to spec to just have fun running it on 4s.
as I said I must have hit somthing and ripped the strut right off the transom and now there are just to holes where the strut was, it;s like somthing just grabed the strut and pulled it off the boat and yanked the flex shaft right out of the motor collet, no damage to motor or the mount.
when I get a new strut how do I mount it back on the boat as it looks like it took the nut out also.
oh it's also the orange one.

Gonna have to do some fiberglass work if you want to do it right. (E.g. fiberglass cloth and resin, drill and tap it and reinsert the mounting screws) I would not advise doing this unless you have a good amount of experience with fiberglass. If i were you i would call aquacraft and see what they advise you to do. Thats a crap situations. It must have been a twig that picked it right off of the transom huh. Tough break. I'll hope that they give you a new hull but i doubt they will.

Thanks, thats what I thought, so what I'm thinking is that I'll take a small drill bit and go through the outside holes so I can locate where I have to cut or drill bigger holes on the inside and then install some new nutplates and then glass the holes back up should not be to hard and while I'm in there maybe put some expanding foam in also, this boat has been great to me and it does take a beating now and then, I do have an extra strut but it's a four hole not a two hole, so if I choose to go that rout it would just take alittle more work and I need to check the size of the other strut.
thanks for your help anyways, I post my results asap.

Have you properly aligned the coupler with the prop shaft? I noticed considerably higher electronic temperatures due to the extra strain that is put on the motor if the joint is not properly aligned. If you have not done this i can post some pics as to how i made the motor mount adjustable so that if you want to adjust the strut angle you can also adjust the motor/coupler position in order to keep the shaft properly aligned with the motor. Thanks and like i said i feel bad about your situation, but as my dad says if you want to keep it perfect then keep it in the box!

Oh yea the coupler/ collect is lined up just fine, the flex shaft slides right into the coupler with ease, no hard pushing at all.
I must have hit somthing so perfect that everything came stright out, just weired that it did'ent touch the rudder or tear up the stuffing tube at all, even the motor and mount are still tight.
Sometimes you just gotta pay to play.
Go ahead and post some pics on that mod, should be intresting.

Was the strut thru bolted or just screwed in?
