turn-fin sponson beef up

I have a new UL-1 ordered. In the race prep sticky Darin recommends beefing up the sponson. Does that still need done or have the improved the hull?

They have updated that area of the hull... No need to go to the lengths that Darin did in his thread.

Do you know when they did the update? If it has the long cap on the esc does it have the updated hull as well?
