    Outrunner in a UL-1?

I'm thinking of trying an outrunner motor in my UL-1.
    Does anyone have any recommendations?
    Thanks

most outrunners in that size range if you will require around 15deg. timing as a starting point.
If memory serves, the AQ 60A esc is factory set at 10 deg. timing. (I could be wrong, it is an age thing.)

Am sure others will chime in and let ya know a bit better than myself.

I personally run outrunners in almost all my boats and love them.

I think the H3126 2200kv would be your best bet but they are hard to come by. The only place I know where you can get one is fightercat racing. Most other places sell the 1600kv version which isnt any good for 4s. Outrunners do sound nice though.

Just probably want to change mount for cooling in front.

I tried the Scorpion 3126 1900 KV in my UL-1 eons ago. IIRC I used the stock UL-1 speedy. Ran nice; no better than the stock UL-1 2030. It came in way over 225 degrees (probably 'cause the timing of the stock SC was too low.) Burnt up a HK motor of the same specs in my overweight tunnel. Still like outrunners, but for spec racing outies aren't on the approved list. Wish they were.

Thanks all, It sounds like I can make it work.
            I saw the 3126 - 2200kv on Bens site.
I would be running it on 4S with a Seaking 90.I haven't used it in a while but I think it can do 15*.
Can I sandwich the cooling block from a standard mount between the stock mount and the motor?

the sea king 90a esc should be able to be programmed for 15Deg. with out any problem.

if the mounting rails are the same width as the new cooling block mount, it should work.

                I'm going for it!
I just ordered a 3126-2200kv from Ben. I also have a cooling plate coming.
                I'll report back

Today I was able test fit the motor and cooling block.IMAG0161.jpg It looks like I need cut a small amount off the bottom of the cooling block. It's touching the hull.

                      I maidened my UL-1 today.
                      Set up is WAY off.
It's hopping really bad and the left sponson is riding about an inch higher than the right.
Couldn't give it more than about 3/4 throttle without it skipping like a rock. Completely uncontrollable. Back end jumping around also.
                      I'm running a Grim 40x52/3 prop
Strut is at 15/16" and neutral.

The motor is incredibly torquey. I think once I get it figured out it will work really well.
