    Up in SMOKE

First time out. Had about 2 min. on the water, made about 1 1/2 laps around the pond and was bringing it in to check it temps. Got close to shore gave the throttle a couple of blips to get it to shore and POOF. Not sure how they get so much smoke in that little ESC.

Called customer service and all they want to do is replace the ESC. Needless to say I'm not happy. I have a brand new boat that is trashed from all the smoke damage and discoloration. Anybody know how to get the boat back to white?

I used electric motor cleaner and lots of paper towel when I smoked my ESC and it did a pretty good job...

    What prop were you using?

The prop I had on was from OSE

          Octura x440/3 Sharpened & Balanced

Thanks for all the options on cleaners.

I think I'll just run it like it is, should be good advertising for AquaCraft. My Pro Boat stuff is bright and shinny.

Tell them you want a new boat, And want talk to a manager with some balls.
The cooling was probably clogged with silicone that they use on the nipples on the esc.

Actually read all the threads in the forum before I purchased the boat. Went through the whole boat realigning the motor checking the screws, leak and flow checking the cooling system. You can see the stuffing tube support I added. I was ready to have some fun and I did, for about 2 min.

Man-O-Man I am really sorry to hear that... It seems really out of character for things to go bad that quick. Were you able to send hobby services pictures of the hull showing what the ESC damage produced?

Have a look at your drive line. With the motor removed and the flex shaft in place you should be able to rotate the flex without "A LOT" of resistance.

I have no intensions of sending them anything that includes any further purchases of their products. Just replacing the ESC is unsatisfactory as far as I'm concerned, so they won't need to deal with me any further, I'm done. They won't here from me again.

I don't think I'm going to do anything with the UL-1 for awhile. I have 3 other boats to play with (Mystic, Impulse 31 and Stilleto) and dealing with Pro Boat is great. they make things rite without any hassle.

I'm interested in your UL-1 if you want to sell it.
