Im a newbie to this FE thing do i measure the strut depth from the bottom of the boat to the center of the prop shaft just want to get a few things strait before i put it on the water. Also curious to see if anyone has put the castle 1512 motor in one of these or is it going to be to much torque for the hull design not going to use it if it is going to be to much trouble id rather just leave it be.

Thats the motor I prefer in my UL-1 now. Use either kv according to the batts you have or can fit inside the hull. I'm using the CC/Neu 1512 2650kv on 4S and its surprisingly well tamed using 2P. I have tried the 1515 series as well as the Leopard 4074. The 1512 performs better IME. And I went down to a Etti150 after having the T180 in there for over a year. Next mod for me is the sponson pockets for the batts to reduce the sponson walk. And it allows for faster and tighter turns. Just my 2 cents

the 1512 i have is the 1800Kv from an 1/8 scale buggy will it be faster than the stock motor 2s configuration will the stock rtr esc be enough to run it or will the smoke come out Ihavent even put it in the water yet just tryin to get some opinions before i move in that direction.Comment

If you want to experiment, try the cheaper Ammo 2600kv motor (more kv), 4s lipo power, and stock esc with smaller props (40mm under...m440). This hull does not like large props.

the ammo is an awesome motor for the ul1.... I have 2 hulls, one with the 2030 and one with the ammo and I swear that the ammo does a better job as long as the boat is dialed in with the right prop and the right set up... all in all the ul1 is a fast boat straight out of the box with these... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXAXFT&P=7Lakeside entertainer
