HELP my UL-1 please!!!

Hello ya'll!!! I just got a aquacraft ul1 for xmas... I have had probs since I opened the box. The motor mount was bent and I had to bend it back, also when you turn the hull you can hear something loose inside like a nut or bolt or something. the first time i took it out it was nose diving and submarineing itself. after adjusting the strut it ran a little better. 5 mins into my run it stopped working... I had to take a swim... when i got home 10 mins later i plugged the lipos back in and it was working fine... What happened? did the electronics get wet? did I buy a crap boat? as for the hull I purchased a new one off ebay... any suggestions? Thanks...

some hydris submarine and pop back up, did you keep the throttle pinned?
you could have hit the low voltage cut off, lipo voltage dips under load, when the load was removed, the lipos had time to recover and got enough voltage to run the ESC again.
if you had waited, the boat might have run again long enough for you to bring the boat in, did you try that?

Check the solders between the motor and esc. They are notorious for de solder during a run and causing the boat to cut out. Put bullets on it and you won't have it happen again.

5 mins it a n awfully long run my bet is you hit the voltage cutoff

My hydro (not UL-1) I have to pin the throttle for a second let off then hit it again and the boat pops right up on plane, otherwise it might go submarine. CG is right and the boat runs great when on plane. Just what it does on launch. It's a scale Pay n Pak hydro about the same size with a ul-1 motor now.
Never seen a UL-1 run so I really don't know if that typical behavior for one on take off.

Thanks for the advice guys... Im new to this site... so its normal for the boat to just shut off? i waited onshore for a while but the water was like glass and i didnt have a fishing pole and tennis ball so I just took a swim... Im going to play with the strut a little more and see what happens... I got a whole new hull so im going to reset it up and go from there...

I had the same issue with mine and found out that there is a weight in the tips of the sponsons. One of them came loose. I ended up drilling a small hole in the side of each and shook the boat until I was confident the weights were properly positioned in the tips of the sponsons and injected some epoxy to hold the weights in place. The was on a first Generation hull. I don't know if the same is true for the 2nd Generation hull.
