    Castle 1512 1800kv 1.5Y motor in a ul-1

has anyone on here ran this motor in this boat just curious otherwise ill just sell the motor to get some extra props and some building materials so i can do the turn fin reinforcement and maybe once spring gets here ill be ready to rip up the water. also will the 1515 1518 cooling sleeve work on this motor. I plan on running it stock with my hobbypeople 35c 5000 2s untill i get the hang of it. Im sure it wont be much fun in the bath tub lol.

Nevermind i figured it out both sleeves are to long for this motor so i guess it is going to be for sale along with the esc i ran in my 1/8 scale buggy.

1512 with a 1515 cooler. You can see how little you have to remove from the jacket to get it to clear the motor wires. Doesn't leak and covers most of the motor.
3/32 deep slot, took about 2 minutes with a dremel, probably 5 if you used a file.
Got fed up waiting for the guy to make some 1512 coolers, then realized how little needed to be removed for a 1515 to fit.I had this motor for 6 months before I did this and finally got some use out of it.
Never tried it in my hydro, but it runs great in cats or monos. It's too much for a Motley Crew, it was damn fast but the hull couldn't handle the higher speed impacts when it would crash. Put a Proboat motor in it before I destroyed it with the Castle.
If I was to come up with another of these motors I'd use the 1515 cooler even if the 1512 was available, more cooling for a very small amount of effort, it's not much but hey it helps.
Been running it with a Swordfish 120 esc and 4s 5300mah 30C Gens Ace batteries no problems. Tried it once with 2 2s 20c 5000mah packs in series, they didn't puff but I've never had batteries that warm before.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

After getting my ul-1 and seeing first hand the space available im not sure if the castle motor with the cooling sleeve will leave enough room for my 2sx2 setup looking into finding a 4s that will fit. for now i will run the stock ecs motor setup untill it gets boring or i smoke the thing.
