Make sure collet and drive dog are tight, lower strut 1 1/8", x442 prop is verygood starter prop, toss across water to get going.

Yeah everything was tight. Lowering the strut would effect it that much?

Lowering strut helps it launch better and ride a little more stable. Tossing the hull then instantly hitting the throttle (do not baby the throttle)will make it go. I do not have to toss my hull to make it go, but it helps to toss..

What batteries are you using? Too much weight in nose will make it not launch from stand still.

I ran 4S2P with 3300 packs in mine, plus 4 ounces of lead in the sponson tips, the boat had no problem getting on plane. But the UL-1 does take some getting used to - as stated above, try giving it full throttle from a dead stop. Pushing down on the transom when launching works for some if you don't mind a little water in the face. The wrong prop can be a problem too, are you using the stock prop?

I'm using 2 gens ace 5000 40c with a gr 40 x 57 3 blade. I even tried moving one to the back and still nothing. I just moved the strut to 1 1/8" from the bottom of the hull. I'm gonna try again when the sun comes up.

I'm also gonna go with a x442 on this run. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

                  Success!!

                  Thanks guys!

I lowered the strut like you said and it instantly jumped up on a plane. I ran a 442 first (43mph) then went to the 40 x 57 3 blade (45mph) it didn't turn very well with this prop. Then I put on a m445 and wow it hit 48.4mph! I very happy with this boat now. It still needs some adjusting, it wobbles from side to side every time it hits a ripple.

The 40x57/3 is verygood prop, but needs to be thinned and sharpened to work good and takes a lot of time to do right. If too dull prop will cavitate and not get on plane. The x442 is probably the easiest to sharpen/ balance and works verygood.

Read and understand your manual, Adjust turnfin on setup board, the m445 may be too large causing side to side wobble. Your lipos may get faster after every cycle. If not, I would purchase some good 2s Hyperion or Grimracer packs. In perfect water (smooth very slight wind ripple)my UL-1 reached speeds of 50mph using the Hyperion 25c 5000mah packs and 40x57/3

I once used two heavier 4s2p Hyperion 3300 packs in mine, the boat submarined easier. Sometimes it would instantly lanch from stand still.
