Need input on a wierd esc issue - Thanks

Hello everybody, I have a UL-1 Superior Iam having a problem with.
Thw boat is pretty much all stock, stock motor and esc with 2 turnigy 2s 5000mah lipos. The other day me and my bro took our boats to the local boat hole to run. when I tossed my ul-1 in the water, I got about 2 duck dives out of it and she went dead in the water.

I brought it back to shore and checked her over, I had rudder but no throttle. I re-armed and she was good to go but, I only got 3-5 quick pulls on the throttle and she was dead in the water again. re-arm and repeat the cycle. after it went dead in the water, I might get an occasional spurt of throttle, but nothing more.

After doing a lil research here, I figured I popped a capacitor. I sent an order off saturday to kintech racing and picked up 6 more. I sodered 2 new caps on today and plugged in the batt's. One of the caps popped almost immediately. I jerked the battery plugs and noticed I had the polarity reversed on that cap. I unsoldered it and chucked it. I soldered on a second new one and tidied it up.

Just to cover my bases I picked up a new 2.4 receiver and bound it as well, btw I am using a flysky FS-GT3B tx and rx's.
I reinstalled and plugged in the battery's and everything was fine. I truned on the tx and the system armed just like normal. I had rudder so I grabbed some throttle and the motor spun for about 1/3 of a second and the esc went dead. Once again I had rudder and no throttle. ???????

New reciever, 2 new kintech caps, balanced charged batterys. all rudder and a split second throttle ?. Anyone got any ideas, Care to take a stab at it ?. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guy's

Did you check your motor wires for a bad connection.

        my 2 cents

well I'd say you have to use the ol process of elimination. I had a similar problem. The obvious is you have either a bad motor or a bad esc. I'd swap out either part, if you happen to have another esc or motor to try. My boat kept blowing out esc's( I soldered on about 4 different Caps with no luck) until I discovered I had a bad motor which caused the ESC to burn up. It was a proboat. I ended up changing both (costly)

Let us know what you find.

            still tryin'

all my motor connection bullets are fine. I got 3-5 pulls on the throttle with the old cap on the esc. With 2 new caps from kintech, the system arms fine. The weird thing is I am lucky if I get 1 full turn from the motor before the esc shuts down. Maybe I'll unsolder the caps and try it capless, then add 1 cap, then 2 caps and see if there's a difference ?,

I am gonna take another brushless system and plug my motor into the esc, and my esc into the motor and see if one of them is bad too. I did blow through all the water cooling passageways as well, their all free and clear.

Hi everybody, I nailed down my problem and I am a jackass. I took my ul-1 to my bro house and went over it. everything tested good. We checked the voltage and it was good as well. We went around and checked everything again, this time one 2s lipo was reading funny. Turns out one of the cells has a bad connection problem.

We grabbed an extra 2s and plugged it in with my 1 good one and viola, she ran sweet. I admit it. I made a newb error after all these years, oops he he he he. Thanks guys !!!!.
