prolly a stupid idea, but has anyone ever tried putting a ski on a ul1 like the ones used on riggers? just curious.... seems like a good way to maintain lift. im assuming that is why it is there on riggers? thanks

It originated on nitro riggers to help unload the prop when the boat is at low speed, keeping it on the pipe. On FE riggers its main function is to keep the boat from dropping the transom at speed on rough water, which will often result in a blow over or at least pitch oscillations. It can also help keep the transom up in turns preventing catching a chine.
