First UL1 to the beginning fleet

Heya all , thanks for all the help that was given in my previous Proboat Shockwavepost , I really wasnt happy with that boat at all in terms of the quality and electrics.

I have sense gone to a Aquacraft Supervee 27 , and let me say see the difference between the quality , at least in my opinion is like night and day!!!

Well I was browsing the net and found one heck of a deal on a UL1 Superiour , Boat is brand new and was just removed from its box but never ran , and includes 2 lipos 2cell 5000mah, and a grim racer Berrylium prop still in the package , and a few other extras grease etc etc. I couldnt turn it down , price was cheaper than one new without the stuff this comes with. I cant wait to get her!

But I did have a couple of questions still i am still a new boater here. What recommendations would you guys give to me before her maiden voyage? Also I know she is meant for 4s (2 2s packs) , but does anyone know if a single 4s lipo would fit and is it possible to also run a single 3s lipo as well?

Any help would be appreciated!! And Ive attached a pic! Man cant wait to stir things up

check all your screws make sure there tight, check the water cooling system for leaks, to do this unhook your tubing from the top of the rudder and blow through it while plugging off the water outlet with your finger listen for air leaks if you find any repair them before running, note: the plastic motor coolers are known to leak around the o-rings. make sure the break line on you turn fin is parallel with the bottom plane of the boat to do this lay the boat flat on a table with the turn fin hanging off the edge check that the break line in the turn fin is basicly level with the table top. i dont think a 4 cell will fit because of how thick it would be maybe some one else can chime in here. 4s is the minimum you should run in this boat so 3s wont work. on your first run make sure you dont ease on the throttle this boat requires some grunt to get on a plane so GUN IT! just make sure the path in front of you is clear for a ways. if not you could possibly dive the nose into the water. (note: this boat is designed to turn well to the right only) also the turn fin area is a known weak spot, in my opinion by limiting your turns to the left you can make it last a little longer especialy if your just boating for fun other than that this a great boat and lots of fun you can expect stock speeds of 40mph one more thing run it with the stock prop first and before you run your grim prop make sure its balanced correctly if you have any more questions just ask

Thanks! Do I need to lube the cable before her first run? And does anyone have any mods that have been done that eliminates the taping down the hatch? My supervee has the pin and lock that eliminates taping

Taping the hatch is not an option...do it or you will be sorry, on your SV as well.

yes, you need to lube the drive shaft before your first run, and dry and lube it again after every outing this will prolong the life of the cable and the stuffing tube, to my knoledge there are no mods to lock the hatch down its just thin plastic but as doby stated it should be taped as well as any other boat you may own this not only holds the hatch on it keeps water out of the hull

I'm running a 3300mh 4c FMA LI-PO.I have a old 6 cell NIMH in the other side for balance.
You do need to make a jumper plug with a Deans connector to plug in where the second 2C LIPO would go. It is a snug but do-able fit.
FYI--- As was said before . This is a right turn boat. It will turn left but takes 2-3 times the area to do so. ( My first time out I ran it up on the rocks trying to turn left and broke the turn fin off.)
This is a fast boat. Have fun!

Got my Ul1 yesterday , weather was nasty so did prep work to it getting it ready. Had to adjust the throttle linkage on the servo arm , throttle linkage was on the servo arm first hole wich extremly limited the rudder turn , moved it up 2 notches and made a difference and gave it more travel , I can fine adjust the travel on my controller.

Took it out to the pond today and let it ride. Man talk about fun!!! Boat rides very very smooth and turns to the right very well , a little bouncy turning to the left but very stable still. Had only one hiccup , when I first took off she nosed dive just a little , but recovered almost instantly, probably didnt give it enough throttle at the start.

Should I stay with the stock prop or go ahead and install the grim racer metal prop for my next run?
