    true or false?

im running a ul1 on 6s. (2x 3000mah 3s 30c, tacon 1700kv, turnigy 180..im running a y536 prop. however, i want to run a grim L40x57 BUT my friend stresses that i shouldn't because ill need to run my batteries in parallel otherwise ill burn something. GUYS, is that true? NOTE: my current temps with the y536 are in the 80s and my caps on esc topped out at 114° .....help anyone who knows!
If the #2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still #2?

The Grim prop will load the motor more and increase the amp draw, and your current packs wired as 6S1P are only good for a maximum of 90 amps. I would worry that your packs may be damaged. If you parallel the ones you have they will be good for 180 amps...but you'll only have a total of 11.1 volts and the boat will be slow. The solution really is to use packs with a higher capacity and/or a higher "C" rating, or run 6S2P.

6S1P = just plain old 6S , no packs in parallel
6S2P = Qty 2, 6S packs connected in parallel to give double the capacity

Richard, where in Texas do you live? There are a number of clubs in the Lone Star state, maybe we could hook you up with some experienced FE boaters to help you.

So... Let me see if I have this right. 6S means SIX CELLS??? That's like.... a Zillion vDC, right? Actually more like 22 VDC, right? SO... in parallel, if you have 2 6 cell packs at 5000 mah you'll have 22.2vcd @ 10kmAh? Am I reading that correctly? Common sense tells me that someone isn't running 44.4 vdc in an UL1, heck, that would power my motorcycle!!!

Ok.... I'd like to build a boat that has that kind of POWER... I basicly want something that's going to hawl a&& in a straight line without much worry of flipping over... Some of the kits I saw on this website look good.

What kind of hull is good for going REALLY fast when you rarely have glassy water?

6s2p in a ul1 = not in your lifetime bud! so i guess its best i stick to a y536 huh? the reason why i wanted to run th L 40x57 is because months ago i ran it on 6s but with a seaking 90 and with the L 40x57 and it was STABLE! now that im using the y536 it chine walks everywhere! could it be that i need to adjust the strut due to prop change?
