At this point I'm also getting my sponsons flat by sanding them w/320 wet or dry and working to 600, It's hard to believe how off they are and messing up the nice orange paint.
no biggie, new paint when I get the mods done I want and achive the goals I want,
and come up with a good color combo.

I also tried the M645 once with my UL-1 and lost speed...Not a good prop for that boat....It loves the M445 S&B'd I hit 60 consistently, but the guys are right, once you are at 60, it thinks it's an airplane and not a boat, this is when you do have to air dam and run only on glass

Well Graves was out os stock on the m445 so I picked up a M545, I know the pitch is 1.5 and dia is 45, I'll give it a try , it's less pitch then my x645 also got a M447 that I could cut down to a M445.Any feed back is welcome, expermenting is everything.

See prop sizes can get very confusing, what size is a S220?

Its the equivalent of an Octura M643, which doest not exsist unless you custom make it from a larger Mxxx series. They are decent props because they come in stainless steel (harder material/ stays sharp longer) and they have less tongue then a X6xx series. The pitch is almost the same as the 6xx series.

I like a X642 on my UL1 that has some tip cupping. Good speed, decent endurance and very little heat on the innards. Not the fastest it could be but certainly does drives well and its reliable. If I had a S220 not already designated for another hull I think it could be a good choice on mine. I'm always looking to buy them up when they show up for a good price.

You got it, I just got done preping the M545 s,bl,and only polished one side of the prop and left the back side with a satin finish, I know there is a lot contraversey on this subject as to polish or not to polish and I myself don't feel there is any noticable difference, but I'll try different things, and post my results.
I am now starting to prep the M447 and get it redy for testing.

Air dam is a piece of angle that is stuck to the underside of the hull between both sponsons around 2" back from the front to break up the air flow under the hull.

take the prop off and look at the end of the hub, it should say what it is.
run 2x2s lipos at least 25c or better.
the higher the c rating and mah the better.
also put some 5.5 bullett connectors on it.

plus one on the C rating
if you can, find some 40C or higher lipos, this motor can pull some decent amps under load...
