    replacement hull

    Hello,
I have a UL-1 and like racing it. However, there has been a leak in the sponsons since I the boat has hit the water that I cant find. I have siliconed all the bolts, replaced the sleeve that the control rod runs through, thoroughly grease the drive shave. still not solution to the leaking. There is no water getting into the radio compartment. It only gets into the sponsons.
Also, due to driving mistakes (both mine and others), there are now many cracks at the front of the sponsons. Most are where the sponsons meet the center tunnel section.
I would like to find a replacement hull that I can transfer all the ul-1 hardware over to. I would like it to be stronger and more durable and also not as leaky. I would like it to not exceed the dimensions to run in the LSH/p-spec NAMBA class. Do you guys have any recomendations? I would like it be able to be setup quickly so that I can run it in the NATS.

    thanks,
    tim

If you have no hairline cracks, it could be leaking around the shaft stuffing tube where it enters the hull...mine did. A little thin CA glue should fix it. Same deal with the other cracks.

Did you seal the outside of the brass to hull stuffing tube? Not the inside shaft with grease.

It's got to be leaking in one of those cracks. I had the same problem but after running "Thin" CA over the cracks it stopped the leaks.

            As for a replacement, I would look at a Vac-u-Pickle" from Vac-U-Boats.

I bought a vac-u-pickle off of ebay. it is ready to run. seemed like a good deal. the guy only ran it long enough to get it setup. said it was in great shape.

                thanks for the advice.

It comes with a Castle Creations 120 Amp Hydra water cooled ESC and a Turnigy 36/56 Water Cooled 2700 KV brushless Motor. I am also planning on running it in LSH, so I will be also setting it up for a UL-1 motor.

It has Full Stainless steel Solinger Running hardware and Rudder.

It doesnt specify what the turn fin is.

I haven't gotten it, yet. It is coming in the mail from canada. The last I checked it had entered the US, so I am expecting to get it in the next few days.

                            Looks Great

Now that I have seen your boat I almost bought that boat thats not Solinger hardware though its Fullers not sure about the turn fin I thank thats Fullers too. Thats ok its the same as I'm using and works great you may want to run a UL-1 turn fin as that what was recommended to me. Keep me posted and if you need any help let me know. I am runnig UL power and ESC runs great.
Hope you get the Hydra 120 thats a great ESC
