Thats tough luck with Aquacraft.Sorry to hear that.As far as the gap goes,I have about 3/16 inch gap between the drive dog and strut.Im no pro by any means, but if your unsure about something-even if someone else checked it out, dont run it untill your positive its right.Refere to the owners manual. If nothing there, ask here.I bought 2 props from rcfunboats that were supposed to be sharpened and balanced, but they just sharpened them. There arent any signs of filing or sanding anywhere as far a balancing goes. So,I dont run them as I dont know how to do this yet.Good luck with your boat.

A really well prepped prop wont show any signs of filing or sanding. You could spin it on a balancer yourself to know for sure.

He has a lot more experience than me, However when i receive the new shaft I will go over it with a fine tooth comb.

All I can tell you is to make sure its the correct length and that the end is soldered.Dont forget a generous lubin on it too.I hear that a lot of guys on here are running 50 mph with the 40x57 prop too with the stock motor and esc.Gonna try one myself pretty soon. They also set the strut to a 1"depth too.

Well the boat has had a solid 10-12 runs since obtaining a new upgraded flex shaft from Kintec racing (thanks Jan). The difference in quality is huge!, a soldered joint is never going to work on a stub shaft.

On another note, Aquacraft never did get back to me...even as much as thanks for letting them know.

Listening to Geoff was your first mistake...

              Cheers

If the #2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still #2?

We also make flex shaft. The Ul1 being one of them. They have been performing well in many boats over the years. Straight and true, with soldered ends for ease of installation.
