    UL-1... Could not be happier

Made my 4th or 5th run with her last night at local park lake. I greased up the drive cable before I ran it. It ran perfect. There was hardly a drop of water in boat after the run. Water was glass, I know I could have ran faster with a little chop. Did not GPS it, I would say 35ish. Temps were 130F motor, 120F batteries (4000,30C Lipos) and ESC 116F.

Boat ran great, could not be happier.

    Welcome...

35ish is a very low estimate, throw a gps in it and I think you'll be shocked at the speed your actually running. Temps are crepping up a little on the motor. Grab yourself a small rat tail file and slightly enlarge the water pickup in the rudder, your temps should go down a little bit. No water is great. All you have to do now is set your strut depth to right around a 1" to 1 1/8" and grab a grimracer l40x57/3 prop, make sure you sharpen and balane it (if you don't know how to do that, chuck here on the website does GREAT work) and hold on because you should see high 40s even low 50s. Happy boating and welcome.

The motor temp is probably fine depending on how and how long you ran it.....did you take the temp on the motor endbell or on the cooling jacket? It can be tough to keep motor temps down this time of year - my pond's surface water temps are already near 90F and don't cool so well. Setups that ran around 100 in February are now in the mid-120s due to water temps. Don't let the motor get to 150F....

Glad to hear, rench! UL-1 is a great boat and as you experienced, it seals incredibly well with the drop tub design. Just stay on smooth water and you'll have a blast!! Beware of a little rougher water.....the hull is somewhat fragile.
