UL-1 ESC Problems

How do you know your esc is dead?
Is your motor spinning no problem? How about the shaft?
That is strange. There was little issue with the older ESC but not with the one with upgraded CAP.
Are you able to arm it again at all?
If you can arm it again after your battery power was disconected than you may need to do some work with your ESC and install new cap or caps.
See and read this thread:

If you can not arm ESC and it's still under warranty sent it to Aquacraft for replacement.
Last option would be to upgrade ESC but the stock ESC is great for this motor.DJI Drone Advanced Pilot

First lets review a few things..
You are running the boat in clean water. No floating weeds or junk in the water.
You are running the boat fast most of the time (it can be hard on the controller if you run the boat part throttle all the time
You are turning the boat right, right! The boat is not designed to turn left. The water pick after all is on the right side of the rudder blade.
You are not running too large a prop on the boat are you? Truth is for sport running you really don’t need more then around 55mm pitch.
First things to check are:
All connectors to and from the controller. Check for any loose solder joints.
Remove the motor and check the connectors on it as well as well as make sure the bearings are smooth (you are flushing the motor out after a day of running?)
Now is a good time to check for any other binding in the drive system as well.
IF’ all the solder joints are good (really check them close) and the controller will not arm.. you have likely failed the part. Send it in the Hobby Services and Im sure they can help.

i do have a question all my other brushless motors turn over very smooth no drag but this one in the ul1 has always turned kinda hard from the time i got it.. when i first got the boat i took the shaft out and put grim racer grease on it buttery smooth. but i noticed then the motor turned hard. i thought maybe it was the nature of a boat motor but im thinking its my problem now.????

That is normal for this motor.
Let us know how it is with the new ESC.
Could you post picture of the new one when you get it please? It would be nice to see close up of it.
Thanks

Are you looking for the cap specs, otherwise the caps are attached in the same manner as the old ones.
I will try and get a picture tonight.
Later

i would like to know how much biger is the new cap and specs of it.
If you have picture with both, new and old side by side that would be great.
I know they are good.
Thanks

Here you go... The new cap is pretty big in physical size. The other picture is the spares I have on hand that are smaller in size and are a step lower on the voltage side.Comment
