    suggestions needed

    Hello,
    I have 2 boats a UL-1 and a 32" mono. I am using zippy flightmax 7.2v 30C 5000mah batteries in both.

    1) I would like a faster motor recommendation so that I could run both boats in the NAMBA p- classes. Somebody suggested that I use a Feigo 5XL, but I was looking to see what other options I had that didn't cost an arm and a leg.

    2) Would I be able to use a 120amp esc with these motors or would I need a bigger one?

    3) I would like to buy a couple more lipos, but hobbycity is sold out of all the 5000mah 30C zippy and turnigy lipos. Is there any other inexpensive lipos that work good and where could I buy them from? OR do you know of anybody else that sells the zippy/turnigy lipos?

    thanks,
    tim

Is that in your only running one pack for a total of 7.4v or are you running two of them for a total of 14.8v?

    5XL + 120 esc and 14.8v=

sorry, Im running the stock battery setup with 2 battery packs. I believe they are in series to make 14.8 volts.

I want the boat to be faster, but controllable through the corners. It handles really well in stock setup. I want the handling to stay the same. I just want to do it faster.

1" or more strut depth and a grim racer l40x57, you should see or get close to 50mph with the stock setup, also move the servo rod up 1 notch from the orignal stock position and your turn radius and control will become better. 5xl in that boat is just not really going to work. If you run 2s maybe, but then it would be less rpm than stock even if you ran 3s it would be outta control, 5xl is just not going to work in that boat for what you want.

WHOOOOOOOOOA! RC SPEED!!!!!!! Chuck asked me what motor you could use for n2 sport hydro I told him a 5XL thats a 7.4v motor not a 14.8 v motor, HE SAID you want to run in N2 not P class, if you wanna run in P sport hydro you can leave the UL1 the way it is and not even spend any money or you can go with an 8XLor 7xl motor. a 120 amp esc would be just fine for both motors. Oh and to run in n2 sport hydro you would have to shorten the boat to 27"

as for the mono you can run that motor in P spec offshore and in P mono but you can prop up more in P mono only the cost of the prop, if you wanna go to a bigger motor I would use a 9XL and swing a larger prop.

          HOLYCOW MAN YOUR KILLIN ME!!!!

PM sent about the tunnel your building!!

I made a stupid move with my ul1 once wanting to go faster.I ran it on 6s with factory electronics and motor. It went 61.9mph and flew straight up in the air. No more of that.4s runs just fine.
