    My UL1

I have bought a used UL-1 hull and hardware in tip-top condition from an OSE member to utilise some sitting motor/esc/batteries that have been left over from a sale.

    The configuration is as follows:

    NEU 1509 2Y 1820KV
    CC Hydra 120A
    Rhino 25C 4S2P 2350mAh
    Metal Gear KoPropo 13kg
    Futaba R603FS receiver
    Octura DriveDog

The purpose of this build is to have a sport boat to run at the local pond, I am not looking into record breaking and top speeds, reliability and ease of transport was the goal. I tried to clock it yesterday but the gps batterier died on me...

It all fitted nicely and the only modifications done was to shorten the flex a few millimeters because the NEU has a longer shaft, and trim the servo tray to accomodate the slightly wider servo, other than that drop in upgrades. Also changed the drive dog to an octura one that looks sturdier...

    Here goes

Speeds with 40X52/3 last week were like this:

Tried yesterday an X445 but not noticed any dramatic speed increase, will keep it like this as after a 5 minute run I measured the following temps with a 12* C external temperature(54F):

    Batteries: 25*C (77F)
    Motor: 20*C (68F)
    ESC: 18*C (65F)

I believe with a setup like this I can get a truckload of lipos and run the boat continuously for over a week and wear out the drive hardware... while the rest come unharmed...

Easy to carry under my arm, fits anywhere as it is dead thin, cowl and hatch are from ABS, the only thing that I dislike but seem tough, runs cold... The perfect sport boat...

Thanks to Nick that sold it to me at pristine condition and my crave to gather hardware I don't need(need to stop it...)

Thanks Steven, that was the easiest boat setup I ever did with adequate results...

Not yet, gps battery went dead on me twice. Actually when turned on the indicator showed two out of four bars but powered off after a minute or two... I understant that it will be slower than stock bacause of the 200ish less KV that the NEU has over the AQ motor but it can drive a bigger prop reliably... Will see in the future...

Thanks pal, that's what happens when you put twice the capacity than the requirements...

Charged the GPS, hopefully this weekend we will have feedback on speeds...

Took me a while to find the perfect weather, sea is a bit unpredictable compared to a lake, and read 31mph on a bit choppy waters... I think I can get a lot higher speeds by increasing the cell count to 5s... The setup can handle it easy...
