    5s ?

I just picked one of these Ul1's up.
I've got three hyperion 6s 35c 5500 packs that have one cell each gone. (they had the pinion gear of a heli motor shoved through the top cell on each, ouch !).
Can a guy run 5s on these with a smaller prop, for similar speeds to the 4s setup, but with a little more run time ?
I imagine on the stock prop and 5s that poor little 60 amp esc wouldn't last long...

I can always configure them as 4s packs too, but since I've already got the extra cells there...

    Regards,
    Nathan

I'm not sure 6s 5500 mah 35C packs will fit in the hull?
and yes these do survive 5s, not sure if I would all ways run it that way?

Actually it'll be 5s, there's one cell shot on each pack.
      I'd just dice them up into a 2s and a 3s pack.

Incidentally a 3s 5500mah 35c hyperion pack will fit on each side, so technically you could stuff 6s in there.

I am asking if it is possible to run 5s all the time with a smaller prop like a 40x52 ?

      Regards,
      Nathan

If you have stock ESC and motor do not run more than specs are suggesting or it may ...
Just upgrade your ESC and motor if you like and it will fly for sure...
Some original ESCs on this boat are giving up on 4S by blowing the cap so go by the book for now.
        Cheers

5s does work on the stock motor and esc, just make small runs and check temps..
          but at your own risk
I used Turnigy 30C 5000mah packs and it rocked!
The boat jumped clean out of the water when I hit the throttle..

You were running the stock prop ?

I've added an extra cap to the esc already...

Actually I though I knew but now I'm not sure what I used?
              I think a S220 or a CF42?
              I think the 220
When I get my UL-1 put back together I'm going to try it again and this time with a CF40 and see how the boat runs..

                A 437/3 that's de-tongued and back cut a bit, on 5s, looks like it'll draw similar amps as the 40x57on 4s.

Works good, higher rpm, smaller prop. Less chine walk!
