On a hydro you have to either have a bend or a hook. hooks work better but require some tuning to get them right. Evert time I have seen someone try a straight fin the boat rides up on the fin and flips over.Team Liquid Dash -
Turn fins make a big difference on hydro. On my Whiplash hull I experimented with a few fins before I found one that didn't scrub any speed but still made the boat turn like a raped ape. I can do full 60mph turns with my Whiplash and the hull is STUCK to the water without any loss of speed.Team Liquid DashComment

Have you looked at what other guys were running that were having good luck?Team Liquid DashComment

There is the fin I made for my Whiplash, might work great on your hull too.Team Liquid DashComment

1/16 is way to think and will flex like crazy. You want as little flex as possible.Team Liquid DashComment

1/16= .0625
3/32= .09375
1/8= .125
1/8" is quite a bit thicker and would be real hard to bend unless you have a industrial brake.Team Liquid DashComment

No I have this on my 30" Whiplash. My bud has this fin in a smaller version in his 22" hydro and it turned on a dime. I decided to scale it up for my hydro and I am glad I did. You can just make it a little smaller for your 27" hull and I bet it will work great.Team Liquid DashComment
