I installed a 4082 1600kv the same way but made the stock mount strong with a piece of aluminum. I used a longer collet by trimming down the shaft a bit and had to cut down the stuffing tube/liner just a little bit. Just make sure everything is aligned perfectly.

That is a concern that I have, as it sits now it doesn't look like the flex and motor shafts do not line up that great. Cure??

You need to either buy one of those stuffing tube adjustable mounts or make some kind of wedge to properly align them. I originally made a wedge with plexiglass but I didn't glue it in place and learned to hard way. It came loose in a roll over and caused so much friction that it warped the flex along with destroying the liner.

That part goes on your stuffing tube, use it to align the stuffing tube and the motor shaft. That way your flex cable and collect are aligned, no drag created.

Bend? You shouldn't be bending anything, the amount of movement needed should be very little

Mine was gutted, ran a bigger motor for a while, kept bending the motor mount everytime it flipped, installed one of these

Trimmed the stuffing tube and moved the motor to where it lines up properly before I glued in the mount.
Mine is back on stock power because the hull was in danger of self destructing. Hatch and top are FULL of spiderweb cracks from high speed crashes.
Swapped in a rudder from a sv27 with a watercooling pickup, installed two outlets in the side of the hull so I can see water exiting the cooling system, motor and esc are cooled separately.
Epoxied a pair of plywood rails the length of the motor compartment because the hull bottom was flexing with the new motor mount, epoxied some carbon arrow shaft pieces into the hatch in place of the plastic "braces" that kept popping off then put another layer of epoxy and glass cloth in the hatch.
Finally painted it in the Amsoil Teague racing colors because I couldn't stand looking at the stock graphics any longer, sorry I think it's dumbest looking paintjob I've ever seen on a boat. Not sure if it's named after them but I can't stand the band either.
If the Lucas Oil had been available back then it would have been the one I bought.

You do not need one of those shaft things, won't help in your situation anyway as you are doing some serious changes. On mine I don't have much more than 1/4" of stuffing tube showing inside the hull, almost all the way back to the square bump you mount the RX to. Have about 1/4" flex showing between the stuffing tube and motor collet when everything is installed.
I also ditched the stock flex shaft before it broke and installed a Hughey, have to cut them to length, you will need to at least trim your flex so it is short enough to work.

Thanks siberianhusky!! I just found that the UL-1 flex is a perfect fit when flipping the mount around. I will be buying the upgraded one off of here. I have already added the rudder with the water pickup. As this is my first boat, I will run the dog snot out of it this year and if the hull lets me down, I would like to get me a fightercat hull to drop the electrics into. We will see.....
