Picture the desired ride attitude of hull at speed and carry water line back thru drive/prop. You can set it on a table and set it up this way. Maybe pull the props off and perhaps pencils under the bow. Different hills vary setup of course. This is how I set them up and generally for a specific prop diameter. Experience kinda comes into play here. I?m doing my best to explain. Maybe I have a side pic of my Lazer at speed. Now that I looked up the ocean spray and realize it is a mono hull.

I think I understand what your are saying. Your attachment isn't working by the way.

Hey Rich, any chance that you have an Octura 455-460 kickin around? I ran a 455 on my 48” Dumas hull and it went plenty well. I suggest this as I do recall trying a H series cleaver on my 35”Delta Force mono and it exhibited the traits of yours. More of a hydro prop I believe.

Geez I’m off my boating/forum game here Rich. I’ve been away from it since the start of spring.

I have a 457, I feel that would be too small for this motor. I would also need a new flex since that prop is a 3/16" hole.

WOW thing moves pretty good! Ok maybe ill give that a try and see what happens, at least I wont have to worry about the motor over working it's self. I could also try to only run 12s 1p instead of 12s 2p with the smaller prop. Might even pickup speed.

If you do the stepped shaft run a 1/4? drive dog on the shaft then the prop and nut on the 3/16?. I have never snapped a shaft doing it this way. Just a precaution

Can you give me a picture of what you are talking about? I have run a 3/16" drive dog on the 3/16" part of the shaft and haven't had a problem on my twin cat, but then again this is a single.

Arranged so that the 1/4? dog is on 1/4 shaft and the ears that bite into the prop are on the 3/16? stepped part.

Ahhh I see what you mean. I might give the smaller prop a try. The boat runs good now. I need new lipos, I think that is why I lost speed, these packs are pretty old.
