    DF Pirate 35" prop range

    Hi folks,

New Pirate 35 build here, finished recently. Running 6S Leopard 4082 1450Kv ~32,000 RPMs. I am looking for suggestions for a reasonable size range to experiment with, before I start spending more money on various props. I am looking for 2 blades only for now. I have Octura X646 and X447, as well as a Graupner K series 48mm and 51mm to play around with. Any other reasonable sizes and pitches suitable for my set up? Any thoughts appreciated.

MY Pirate is currently set up with a TP 4050 1570kv. On a ABC 1816-45-17 it is fast, 97.8 kph through the lasers, and we have 100M run up at best so actual top speed is higher. It depends on your speed vs runtime goals. On a 1716 it was at 85 kph and super stable. Your Octura props should be a good start.

I have a DF 35 and run 445/3 , 445 , 447 , 448. I have run the 646 and 450 and for that matter just about any prop in my box at one time or another. The 646 tends to go real fast but unstable, 450 sucks juice. The first ones mentioned are my go to’s depending on runtime/speed needs. And those props would have M cuts on them(M445)

Srislash, thank you - this is very useful info. It seems that 46-48mm is the sweet spot. I'll start experimenting with some ABC props in that range.

The ABC?s are the only ones untried on that boat. It Is my ?good old reliable? one. I did try some higher pitch abc props back then but it just did not like the pitch. It would try to skip the bow across the water. The new high rake ABC?s have the absolute opposite effect so should work well.
