Any suggestions for what prop to start with?

Building a 50" cat with 800kv 2028 motor. 1/4 " shaft single screw and 12s battery. I know airplanes but am new to boats.

Exactly what hull? What battery brand, capacity, discharge rate? Parallel? What ESC? What use for the boat, general sport or zip-zip running? What run time do you want? No one can give a responsible answer to your question without more information.

It's supposed to be an express craft hull, I don't see where they build a 50". still have to buy batteries, lookin at 10,000's don't know what discharge, need help there. Lookin strong at the Alien 400A ESC. For starters just gonna zip-zip, lookin for 100mph. Thanks for the help.

100 mph will be a real challenge. Dinogy 70C 5000 mAh packs in parallel, the Alien ESC may work. ABC 2418-17* prop or similar. You will not want to make more than 2-3 passes before bringing it in to cool off. Will have to run loose.
