Help with prop to upgraded Traxxas Spartan (2160kv)

Hi,

Here is the list of my Traxxas Spartan:

- 36" Deep-V hull (original)
- Motor: TP Power 3630 2160kv (link: http://rcmn.no/index.php?do=product&id=1007)
- ESC: Swordfish 220a 2-6a (link: http://www.rcmaritimenorway.no/index...product&id=913)
- Rudder with two seperate waterinntakes
- Batteries: 2 x 3s 65C - haven't decided for 5000mah or 6000mah. An thoughts here?
- all connections: 8mm bullet

So the stock prop is nylon. Any sugestions? 2 blade? 3 blade? And I don't know the size of the flex, does anyone know this?

What are you trying to accomplish? That is a 4s setup. With that setup, you'll be forced to run a tiny prop. You'd better off sticking to 4s. Even the stock motor on 6s with an x442 is fast.

To be honest, I don't find that to really be an upgrade, just a possible headache.

I've made some changes. The motor is now 4050 1670kv. The rest is like mentioned above. Is that better?

That's a much better option. Just stick an x642 and see how you like it. The larger the prop, the higher the current drain, which means mire less run time and more heat.

Also I know you aren't in the US, but OSE also offers an upgrade option. It is a Leopard 4082 1600kv with a Turnigy/Seaking 180.

Oh that should definitely be a safe prop. Pay attention to how it runs and how hot everything is getting, then get something larger if you feel the need for a little more speed. Everything should definitely be cool on that prop though.

Sorry, bore did not read the whole thread. why are you wanting to switch motors? ESC is the most concern in those boats

Both the stock motor and esc was damaged. I bought the boat used, snd I only had one round, and those parts were gone. But the esc I'm using is swordfish 220a 2-6s, isn't that good enough?

Should be fine, I am just not a sf fan. I do not like their throttle response. Main thing is check temperatures till you get your setup right! Run one min. Then check.

But just to be sure. In that one minute test, can I use full throttle once or twice? Just to se check the heat..

Okey. I'm waiting for my package from rcboatbitz. A 42mm 2 blade prop. BUT I also want to try a 3 bladed, perhaps 40mm? But they have it in three different pitch; 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8. Does the pitch have any effect on the heat? Any suggestions, please?

More pitch = more heat, unless you go down on diameter.
