Help with prop choice

I have a HK Genesis cat on order with a turnigy 180 amp ESC and leopard 3674 2200kv motor and plan to run it on 6s. What prop is a good starting point? I haven't received the boat yet, but ordered all parts to do a dual water cooling system. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I run a octura 445 prop on mine in the stock 4S setup, 180 ESC, and run a consistent 48 MPH all day long. I just went to a 5S battery setup and I am running 61.8 with the same prop... It is a winner on the Genesis boat..

X445 or M445? So since I will be using a higher kV motor and 6s instead of 5s, logically I should run a smaller prop. Just wondering how small.

Nickrnr, Sorry it is the M445. On my post for the genesis on 5S you will see some info about Even with 6S the M445 is a good prop for this boat..

I would keep the prop around 40-42mm with a 1.4 pitch. I don't recommend running this on 6s as a sport setup until the battery drains to cutoff. It's a little high on the kv side to use it like that. You want to make a speed run or two then it'll be fine but constant running it is not a good idea.

Ya I would take Travis's advice, a T-180 will not be happy if you plan on running that setup as a sport boat. It WILL get hot. Had one detonate 2 months ago, blew the heat sink right off the case. Melted the power lead and a motor lead right out of the case too.

Well I was only planning on running it 5 to 7 minutes at a time on 6s, hopefully that will be fine and keep the heat low. When I plan to just play with it and I'll run 4s. Thanks for the advice. I believe I have a graupner 40mm and a 42mm, I'll start with those. Also have a grim 38x55

I will be surprised if you can get 5-7 min on batteries running passes... unless they are very short ...
