    measuring pitch

So im new to measuring pitch. In other threads guy talk about measuring at (x)degrees to make the math simpler. So what is this in reference to? I had plans to make up a pitch gauge. Similar to voodoos. But i need to understand how thay work.

This is referring to the number of degrees the blade is turned, 5,10,15,20,25,30 degrees. During the turn the gauge measure the drop in inches on an area of the blade, TE refers to trailing edge, COB centre of blade. Taking the measurement you look up on a chart for the numbers of degrees and you get the pitch for that area of the blade.

The larger the number of degrees the larger the area measured on the blade.
