    Whiplash 20 FE

Im running a Leopard 3674 2650kv motor, seaking 120amp esc, and 4s 1p 5000mah 50c-100c packs. What prop suggestions do yall have??? My cut down whiplash(27") I was running a leopard 3660 2550kv motor, same 120amp esc same batteries and was able to go all the way to a cupped x642 and everything, temperature wise, was coming in the low 90s. I know that im going to gain 1680rpm unloaded. And this 2650kv motor is 2400w over the 1700w that the 3660 can put out. So whats my prop options? Im going to first go shake the bugs out with a x440/3 but would like some prop ideas for heat racing.

    Tommy,

From my experience the whips need very low lift props. The 440/3 should be pretty quick. As you said the X642, X645, M645 in addition to a 42x55 may also work well. Your controller will probably be the weak link here.

I don't know anything about those ESC's so I could not say. Run the 120A one if it has been working for you. After the shakedown run with the X440/3 check the ESC temp.

Went and ran the boat with the mystery 200a esc installed. Things came in with hardly any temps above nominal. But had a coupler spin so I've gotta fix that. Also was running a cupped x442

Went back over to my local pond just before the sun went down and ran it again with a stailess Prather 220 thats cupped and pitched a lil and the 200a esc had a problem and overheated and melted part of its heat shrink off but the motor came it at 110 on the can, 120 on the bearing and the esc besides the part that got to 181 degrees the rest of the esc was 130-140 degrees. I think the esc may be ok. idk. Letting it sit for now but for this first race im just going to throw the 120 back in it and run like a 642 to be safe but still competitive. But Dam that 220 ran sweet.

What esc would y'all recommend me run with this motor? Turnigy 180? Swordfish? Or something else?
