Should I upgrade to a bigger prop?

    Hi!

    My current setup is:
    • TFL Apparition
    • Leopard 3674, 1400kv
    • Fliermodel 200 Amps ESC
    • 6S
    • Octura X442 prop

The boat runs very smooth and I'm very happy with my gear. However, I think there is room for improvement! After running at full speed for 5 minutes, the motor, ESC and batteries are just lukewarm. So I think my prop is to small, and that a higher pitch will give more top speed. (also, the acceleration is quite poor with the X442)

Should I upgrade to a bigger prop, any suggestions?

    I went from a x442 to a x642 on my revolt
1800kv on 4s and was quite happy with the improvement.

      With a 1400kv motor on 6S I would suggest an x445 or a m645.

Agree, the easy way to progress is x440,x442,m445,m447. Each prop is just a bit more.

            Thanks for all the advices.

Since I don't like (or have the time) to prep a new propeller I'm gonna go for a CNC-milled 45 mm propeller with 2,52" inch pitch. I let you know how it goes.

                Kenetic has CNC milled props.
The M series is faster in general than the x series.
                they have a M642, and a M744

                    Update:

It took a while but this Saturday I finally tested the new prop: top speed increased 9 knots. Batts, motor and ESC are hotter than before but still acceptable.

                    I'm a happy camper

                    Thanks for all the feedback.
