This was what I did with my 447 exactly. Found extra run time AND more speed. Just 'aired' the prop out that little bit.And yup the square trailing edge. I square it to the prop face.

Haven't played with the rounded tips yet.

      Yes, the trailing edge.
Keep the trailing edge square but backcut at the hub in a straight line from the tips. Don't take any off the tips.

You will find exactly what srislash describes above.

Less load, higher revs, narrower thrust cone more speed & longer run time. Not a huge amount but it is certainly noticeable.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

So is this approximately what I would remove?

It would be along those lines yes. It doesn't take too much near the hub. Like was said 3/32. I use the belt on my sander. What it does is relieves a bit of the 'cup' near the hub. All Good?

That is almost it but as srislash said only about 3/32" at the hub. It looks a lot more in your photo. But it also looks too far in at the tips you will take the cup off the trailing edge near the tips that far in. Start your line right out on the trailing edge at the tips. Don't take anything off the trailing edge near the tips.

Ok. I only marked the prop like that so a picture would show. I get what you're saying
