    Need Prop Advise

I have a used 44" Herzog Hurricane Mono, a Castle Hydra Ice2 HV 200, large Leopard motor (do not know model), running a pair of 4s (8s total in series), Speedmaster hardware. He has let me try out five different props and I get to keep two out of the five. I am real green to this sport as I have not at yet run the boat. He tells me to start out with the smallest prop and check the heat of the speed controller,
and the motor. Run the boat at half throttle the first time and then check things out. The props I have are Prather 245, Octura X457, Prather 255, Octura X460, and a 3 blade Octura X455/. Which one should I start out with? Then I would like to know number next and so on as to run faster and continue to check out how things are heating up. Hope to launch "Freedom" on May 24-25 weekend, weather permitting. Look forward to your comments. Dan DuFlo

Important - DO NOT run the boat at half throttle for very long! That is one of the easiest ways to overheat an ESC and burn it down. You need to evaluate the prop at full throttle - not half. It seems that the guy selling the boat does not know much about FE boats, beware of his suggestions. We need to know the model and Kv of the motor and the exact packs used. Photos would be good too.

Hey fluid I sold him the boat with a LOT of information about props batts and everything about running this boat, the KV of the motor is 1000kv it is one of the bigger leopards, Definitely poop on me for not knowing the nomenclature of the motor, my bad, but every prop I gave him I have run on the boat in sport and racing configurations so I know they all work on the boat. I gave him 5 props to try to see what he likes, and they will make the boat do 45-65 mph depending how fast and how much runtime he wants???

Dan I'm sorry I think u called me last week some time and I never returned your call my bad. Dan I never once said to run at 1/2 throttle, I know you've saved every e-mail and text please look back over them!!!

And Howard you saw this boat run at both the Canadian race and the Mi cup so you know first hand how good this boat runs. this was the big white herzog.

Will do, and I will not run it at half throttle. Still learning the ropes of this whole deal....Thanks Again, Dan
