    Triple 1717 Fantasm Prop Advice

Hey I'm seeking advice for the right props to run on my triple 1717 CC Fantasm, I'm running it on 8s per motor, batteries are 4s 2600mah 50-100, can't really fit much more than the six 4s in it. Three Swordfish 240 ESCs. Happy for any advice!

How did you get 3 1717's in there. I push up to a x450 on my 35"DF mono with a single 1717. So you should be able to start there.

      Hmm...

Limiting factor is definitely going to be the batteries on this one Justin. I'm honestly not sure what to recommend. Aggressive props are going to result in puffed lipos, but I assume you want to go fast with this. If I ignore the small lipos I would say something like octura x447s. It depends on what your goal is but the lower lift props like octura x series will likely net the best results.

Keith has a good point on the extra lift generated by another prop. Multiple props work to help each other,so lift may happen easier and push the nose in(Plow).
PropShop has many choices as well in low lift prop. 1.2-1.3 ratio's are available.

Oops, I missed that 8s part. Sorry about that. You most likely won't be starting with 50mm props then. I know PShp has 4513 props or 4514 in CR. Not sure about what else. CNC should offer some good sizes as well,4814 I believe .

Well a little stretching and pulling and they fit LOL. I ran it with x450s with the twin on 8s. The props were still raw and was anxious to see what it would do. It was GPS'd at 80 mph. The batteries then were 5000 mah, 45-90. These batteries are 2600 mah 50-100. I just want to go fast. The nose has a lot of fibreglass resin and cloth so lifting the nose is a bit more difficult. I have run with x447s but never gps'd it. I really want to get some props from the prop shop but want to try hit it on the head the first time around which I know is impossible. I plan to do a run tomorrow with it on the x447s. I will video and post after if I have luck. Not sure if the GPS can fit in there now and I have added an inlay of CF to the hatch so that's going to interfere with the signal as well. Its built like a tank now.

If you are using 3 props do you make them all turn one way or do you make 2 one way and 1 the other CW vs CCW

Well as Josh can tell you, it's been raining all day so we don't want to get wet lol.

Hey guys, I got a reply from propshop UK, their guy Simon advised to run 5017/3, what do you think? Is it a go??

Seems like it would create a lot of lift...I ran a pair of 5017 2 blades on my Fantasm with twin 1717s. Ran fast, just had to let off the throttle easy....the drag from the props would cause the boat to bounce and flip if I just let off completely. I liked how it ran with 4518s better. I think the x447s would be your best bet, but would be surprised if your batteries held up. Great job fitting the motors in there, is that a Castle with two Sirius motors? And are the controllers all the same?
