Hey guys, I have the Pro Boat Shockwave 26 Brushless V2 boat and I'm looking to upgrade from the stainless prop it came with. Everything in the boat is stock. Any suggestions?

I would start out with an x440 and check motor & ESC temps. If all's well, then give an x442 a try and check temps again. I think you find one of those 2 or an m440 will fill the bill on that boat. -
The prop size is 1.34" x 2.06". Do you know what kind of performance those props will give me, if any?Comment

I have 2 of the shock waves (v2). One is a rescue boat and one is wife's boat. Both of them are running stock motor and esc on 2s lipos. The prop I use is a TFL 435. Anything more and the stock electronics wont hold up.Modified Jae21, Stock Jae21, Cheetah, Ul-1, Shock Wave 26 V2 (Rescue Boat).Comment

Regarding aftermarket props - I checked the prop chart above, SirBudman is right (size). Do you know if your prop shaft is 1/8" or 3/16"??
You can find the TFL props here... http://kintecracing.com/TFL_Props.html
If you find you need an adapter, there are easy to follow instructions for making your own here... http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/inf...propellers.php
SirBudman also mentioned the electronics... I would highly recommend replacing the stock 30A ESC with a 60A Seaking unit, especially if your using LiPo's. Factory ESC's (not just PB) tend to be over-rated and just barely adequate.
My PB IM-31 came with a 60A unit, I replaced it with a 120A Seaking as have many others on this forum with that boat.
Hope that info helps.Comment

The prop shaft is 1/8th inch, so you would need some kind of adapter. Easy to make with a piece of brass tubing. as far as the esc, is it the red or blue one? If it is the blue one which is the one that I have in both boats you'll be ok to run lipos in it. 2s is the biggest you can run in it. With the one I use as a rescue boat2012-01-09 14-11-54.616.jpg2011-12-20 17-27-28.980.jpg It has all stock electronics in it still running a 2s lipo, and for pushing the rig and another boat back to shore it does just fine. The only thing that I did change was the prop and it is the TFL 435. So I would say if you are just looking for some more speed try that prop and run a 2s lipo in it and have fun with it, I had to but a second one because my wife drove it once with out the rescue rig one it and was hooked. It is a fun little boat to drive and I would say set up right it does 30 mph easy.Modified Jae21, Stock Jae21, Cheetah, Ul-1, Shock Wave 26 V2 (Rescue Boat).Comment

Main reason I suggested the SK60 speedo is because it provides extra overhead. There's also the ability to set the actual number of LiPo cells rather than relying on auto detect, being able to set LVC to the voltage of choice and adjustable timing - but you already knew all that.
The V2 boats came with a 30-amp ESC, the V3 boats come with a 45-amp unit. Not sure why PB did that, but I'm sure they wouldn't put out the extra $$ in manufacturing costs if the higher amp unit wasn't required - for what-ever they're(PB) reasons are.
They do look like fun boats, I was thinking about getting one of the brushed models and converting it to BL my way. IM-31 1800Kv motor + 60~90A Seaking otta wake her upComment

Does anyone know if the prop shaft on the V3 is bigger than the V2? I have the V3, and it came stock with Proboat prop PRB0151 http://www.proboatmodels.com/Product...ProdID=PRB0151 (which I broke today)
I measured the hole in the prop and it appears to be close to 4mm. I was thinking of getting this guy - http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...od=cnc-4214250
Thoughts?
I also have a traxxas blast - not sure the prop shaft size on that, but it is MUCH smaller than my Shockwave.
Thanks!Comment
